Caregiver Connection
Thanks to the support of the Government of Alberta and Ministry of Children’s Services, CMHA Wood Buffalo has developed a Peer to Peer Family Support Program. Caregiver Connection provides peer support services to parents and caregivers of individuals with a mental health and/or addiction concerns. We achieve this by providing compassionate support from a care-giving peer who has “been there”. Information and resources are shared to assist caregivers in achieving wellness for themselves in their journey of supporting others.
Empowering Helpers
Caregivers are not just family members, they are individuals who are actively involved with the care of a child, youth, adult or senior. Perhaps you are a caregiver who sometimes feels confused, frustrated, scared or even guilty? Maybe you are in need of community supports or coping skills? This course is designed for those needing useful tools and strategies for supporting yourself in your role. Most importantly, it has been designed to help individuals develop action plans to help maintain relationships within the family and implementing self-care strategies.
Register for Empowering Helpers Online Class Thursdays at 10:00 AM.
